William L. Bartlett, better known as "Bill" and often referred to as "Cowboy Bill," passed away peacefully on September 30, 2024 in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 83. Born on April 18 1941, in Wichita, Kansas.
Bill was a true cowboy at heart, he took pride in wearing western clothing, often seen in his beloved cowboy boots, stylish belt buckles, and classic cowboy hats.
Throughout his life, Bill found joy in the outdoors. Fishing and hunting were two of his greatest passions, allowing him to experience nature and share memorable moments with his brother Morey and his son Cullen. At home, you could often catch him tending to his garden. His neighbors admired his green thumb.
Bill enjoyed driving the bus for Omaha Pubic Schools. He did that for many years until he retired from the Chief School Bus Service.
Bill is preceded in death by his mother, L. Margaret Vandever; father, Lee V. Bartlett; brother, Maurice “Morey” Bartlett and significant other, Sandy Workman. He is survived by his children, Carrie L. Bartlett, Cullen M. Bartlett, Teresa L. Fowler (Craig), Tracy R. Cooney (Dan); grandchildren, Joshua, Nathaniel, Elijah (Jess), Caleb, Gannon (Taylor); a few great grandchildren; sister, Linda McWilliams (Don); sister-in-law, Patti Bartlett and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.
There will be a private family burial at a later date at Westlawn Hillcrest Cemetery in Omaha, NE.
