Rose M. Baker (Williams)

Rose Marie Baker (Williams), born on August 31, 1973, in Bath, Maine, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025, in Tabor, Iowa, surrounded by her loving family. She was 51 years old.

Rose grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, where she graduated from North High School. After high school, she worked at Omaha Rental for a decade before moving to Arkansas to care for horses. During her time there, she cherished the memory of meeting country music star Toby Keith while tending to one of his horses. Though Rose spent much of her life in the Midwest, her heart always remained in Maine, where she fondly recalled family reunions and the connections they brought.

Rose shared her life with her devoted partner, Jackson Agerson. The two met as teenagers through mutual friends but reconnected later in life after Rose returned from Arkansas. Together, they built a life that took them from Omaha to Sioux Falls and eventually Dell Rapids, South Dakota. In recent years, they returned to Malvern, Iowa, to be closer to family as Rose faced health challenges.

Rose was a loving sister, aunt, and friend to many. She is survived by her partner Jackson; brothers Wes (Jean) Nelepovitzand Tony Baker; sisters Chris (Wayne) Alter, Lura (Scott) Shehan, and Megan (Sam) Beckering and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lydia Darnell "Cookie."

In her later years, Rose found joy in making jewelry and decorating for the holidays. Online shopping became a comforting escape during her health struggles. Her family extends heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Tabor Manor for their compassionate care over the past year.

A celebration of Rose’s life will be held on February 1, 2025, from Noon to 3 p.m. at Classic Café in Malvern, Iowa. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
