Cynthia Lynne (77) died peacefully on Friday January 3, 2024, at CHI Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, NE, after a period of acute illness. She was surrounded by her family and their love.
Cynthia Joan Dolan was born on September 10, 1947 to Alice (Collins) and William Dolan in New Rochelle, NY, the youngest of four sisters. She was married to Michael George Lynne on April 18, 1970 in Rye, NY.
After high school, she attended Silvermine College of Art in New Caanan, CT, and later graduated from Broome Community College in Binghamton, NY, with an associates degree in registered nursing, where she was co-valedictorian. Later in life, she attended Alfred University where she studied ceramics and weaving.
Cindy worked as a nurse for over 25 years in various specialties, mainly psychiatry. Cindy was involved in many volunteer activities. She tutored recent immigrants in English, volunteered at CHI Lakeside Hospital, and led a spiritual group at Montclair Nursing Home. Cindy continued as an artist throughout her life, and even illustrated a published children's’ book.
Cindy is preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Barbara “Penny” Yesko, Ruth Gerrity, and Sally Katary.
Cindy is survived by Michael Lynne, her loving husband of 54 years and her three daughters, Heather Woodford of Omaha, NE, Johanna Lynne (John Fiorillo) of Vista, CA, and Jessica Cingel (Thomas Cingel) of Kingston, NY. She is survived by her granddaughters Marie and Kathryn Woodford, Nova Fiorillo and her grandsons Lyndon and William Cingel.
